Irritable  Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

IBS is a common condition of the digestive system that can cause bouts of stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhoea and constipation.

IBS usually manifests itself when a person is between the ages of 20 and 30. The person can experience the symptoms in bouts, which can occur during times of stress or triggered after eating certain foods.

Symptoms vary from person to person, but most will find that stomach cramps are eased after opening their bowels.

The cause of IBS is not yet fully understood by doctors, some suggest that it is due the patient becoming more sensitive to food moving through their gut.

Homeopathic Treatment

Whilst it should be understood that homeopathy treats the person and not the disease, there are however a number of remedies that can help when applied to the totality of symptoms.

The following remedies should be studied:

  • Nux Vomica
  • Mercurius Corrosivus

  • Ornithogalim Umbellatum
  • Arsenicum Album
  • Bryonia
  • Lycopodium
  • Nux Moschata
  • Podophyllum
  • Vertarum Album
